Texas Rail Trail

The Texas Rail Tourism Alliance held its first meeting on November 4, 2000.  The organization was formed to promote railroad-related heritage tourism and established the Texas Rail Trail website and a TRTA brochure to help meet that goal.  Member organizations are encouraged to cross-promote their special events along with railroad tourism as a whole.  Meetings are held quarterly at different locations throughout Texas.

 TRTA Benefits:

bullet Exchange Group - allows member organizations to exchange ideas and information, as well as broadcast special event notices to the entire group.
bullet TRTA Event Calendar - helps publicize your event well in advance.
bullet Website and Brochure - member organizations are promoted as destinations on a state-wide level.  This helps get the message out to a much larger audience than member organizations could reach individually. Nearly 5000 TRTA brochures have been distributed to the 12 Texas Travel Information Centers.
